The School of Performing Arts at Virginia Tech allows me to become well-round in many valuable skills of theatre arts. Whether that is acting, designing or aiding others in the design process, reality is created for all viewers to join the world we develop.

Concord Floral by Jordan Tannahill, Directed by Sarah Elizabeth Yorke

“I think art isn't a blanket of education. It's not just this one thing. And working with people from different levels and different backgrounds has really challenged me as an educator, to pay attention to the individual. And my own philosophy is the human before the artist and the artist before the art. And that rings true with the human before the student and the student before the work. I find that that is like the foundation of the work I'm doing in this room” - Sarah Elizabeth Yorke

Concord Floral is a one-million-square-foot abandoned greenhouse and a refuge for neighbourhood kids; a place all to themselves in which to dream, dare, and come of age. But hidden there is a secret no one wants to confront, and when two friends stumble upon it they set off an unstoppable chain of events, from shadows in parking lots to phone calls from the grave. It's time for the teens of Concord Floral to start talking.

MEET ANDREAYUH DAVIS

Especially the current climate, community and developing spaces to where we can let the authentic intrinsics of each person’s humanness affect the community to make a positive change. We must let our art forge a change amongst people to be curious, to understand, and to embrace what is considered the foundation of authenticity and their human experience. Take a minute to write an introduction that is short, sweet, and to the point.
